'The Power of the Holy Spirit: An Evening with Fr. Christopher Crotty'

"The Power of the Holy Spirit: An Evening with Fr. Christopher Crotty" will take place after 4:30 p.m. Mass May 5 at St. Mary Catholic Church's Parish Life Center, 127 N. Monroe St..

National speaker Rev. Crotty will preside at 4:30 Mass. A dinner will follow at 5:45 in the Parish Life Center and will include mostaccioli, ham, salad, rolls and dessert. Rev. Crotty will speak at 6:30.

Rev. Crotty was ordained in 2001 and then served as associate pastor at St. Martin of Tours in Louisville, Ky.

"For the past several years, Fr. Crotty has promulgated the rich teachings of the Holy Spirit and healing on missions, retreats and conferences. He also teaches nationwide on radio and other media resources," said organizers.

He also is a member of The Association of Christian Therapists.

Donations will be accepted to support the church's Mission Possible project. The church, in collaboration with Comboni Missionaries Auxiliary, is raising money to dig a fresh-water well in an African village.

Suggested donations are $10 for adults; $7 for seniors; $6 for children 5-14, and free for children 5 and under.

The event is sponsored by the church's Confirmation candidates.
