The MonroeTalks calendar is sponsored by The Monroe Evening News in Monroe, Mich., and is the on-line complement to event listings in the print edition of our newspaper.
This database and the event listings in our news pages are intended for non-profit, charity, civic and community events in the Monroe County, Mich., area. Commercial events such as a business open house will be referred instead to one of our advertising representatives for paid advertising opportunities. Vendor and information expos involving multiple businesses such as those hosted at the MB&T Expo Center are included on a case-by-case basis. Events outside of a one-hour driving distance of Monroe, Mich., are generally not accepted.
Any event that is submitted via this online calendar will be considered for all appropriate spots in our print newspaper and magazine products.
To get the best results from your publicity efforts, you will want to submit items that are intended for the Monroe Evening News’ Community Page at least one week before the event or reservation deadline. Events that will appear in our weekly lists such as Church, Health, or Arts & Entertainment should be submitted at least two weeks before the event or reservation deadline. Events that are submitted too late for the appropriate spots in the newspaper pages will be listed on line only.
