Annual Clothing Drive to benefit St. Vincent de Paul Society

A Memorial Weekend clothing drive will be held on behalf of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, with donations accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday May 23, Sunday May 24, and Monday May 25 in the parking lot of St. Michael Catholic Church, 502 W. Front St.

This donation drive is sponsored by the parishes of St. Michael, St. Mary and St. John in Monroe, and St. Joseph in Maybee. St. Michael's St. Vincent de Paul Society has led the clothing drive for the past 26 years. All clothing for this drive must be dropped off, there will be no pickups for clothing.

Donations of small household items also may be made during the clothing drive for The Spirit of Giving project in Monroe. That effort is helping families move out of homeless shelters into apartments. Pickups for larger items such as furniture can be arranged for by calling 735-9605.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Michael's also assists families with rent, utilities and food throughout the year.
