The 2009 Celebrate Children Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Frenchtown Square mall, 2121 N. Monroe St.
Admission is free for this family-friendly event, which is an opportunity for families to learn about resources in the Monroe County area. The children are invited to enjoy the games, activities and crafts throughout the Frenchtown Square Mall.
The program schedule includes:
10 a.m.: The Music Lady.
10:30 a.m.: Michigan State Police K9 demonstration.
11 a.m.: Monroe County Community Players present a preview of “Alice in Wonderland.”
11:30 a.m.: Little Miss Monroe County Pageant winners will make appearances.
Noon: Kindermusik with Mary Smith.
12:30 p.m.: Monroe Family YMCA Kid Fit.
1 p.m.: T-shirt design winner presentation.
1:15 p.m. Monroe Martial Arts and Fitness Center demonstrations.
2 p.m.: Little House of Hugs Preschool skits.
There will also be free Michigan Child Identification Kits sponsored by the Monroe Masons. Free t-shirts and lunch coupons also will be provided to the first 600 children to attend.
