The Monroe County Historical Museum will host its 30th annual Christmas Tree Festival during December.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, no admission fee is charged during the Christmas festival. Tour groups are asked to make reservations at 240-7780 to avoid schedule conflicts.
More than 50 classrooms, youth groups, church clubs and service organizations participated in the 2007 festival. Any group that would like to provide a decorated tree or wreath should submit the entry form by Nov. 12. For information, contact Lynne Reaume at 240-7780 or lynn_reaume@monroemi.org.
Also during December, the Stanley Newton Victorian Room will be decorated in Victorian holiday style.
And in conjunction with the Monroe County World War II special exhibit, a 1940s-era tree and other seasonal displays from that decade will be shown.
