According to the Monroe News, the branch is now going to stay open.  If, in fact, that is the case, this is certainly an instance when we need to acknowledge the effort of Walt Wilburn, Kathy Angerer, and Randy Richardville.

Thanks for a great job on this!!!

Just got a call from a friend of mine who confirmed that the office will not close. But I do know that there was a third party person that helped in this effort.

I am sure you will here about this person in the future here in Bedford as I know they will be running office in 2012.

Yes, Randy Richardville seems to be taking a lot of credit for this, but as you recall he jumped on the band-wagon very late in the process.  Representative Kathy Angerer was the one who proposed legislation to stop the SOS from doing this, or at the very least, deduct funding from the SOS budget if service to this area was diminished.  Walt was instrumental in coordinating efforts to fight this in Lansing.  Kudos to ALL involved!

Here's a link to the article in today's Blade (3-6-2010) about the SOS office remaining open.

According to Walt (talked to him at the trade fair today) Randy was the one that set up the interviews in Lansing, but otherwise it was a team effort with the three of them.

Just like you know for a fact other things that you have been proven wrong about, sorry but you have lost all credibility. I've known Walt since I was a baby, I trust him more than most politicians.

I too have known Walt since 78...tho I don't agree with all that he says & does I do whole heartedly believe he is an honest & forthright man. You can ask him a question, you may not always like the answer but he will answer. Having said that...I don't give a rip who is responsible for the SOS staying open as long as it does....and  who's looking for a pat on the back anyway....the one who does something just because it's right & is not jumping up & down looking for thank you's...well that's the person I admire.

First collegkid,
I did not say a negative or a discreditable thing about Walt,,, not at all. Yes, I am not stupid, he did what he could do to this cause. He is a very very nice man AND HE DID GO TO LANSING TO HELP US.  Just please re-read my post...I know someone that was in Lansing a dozen times talking to people about our community, AS WELL....HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY INTEGRITY..I HAVE LIVED HERE IN BEDFORD BEFORE YOU WERE EVER ORGANIC MATTER IN THE LOINS OF YOUR FATHER...GROW UP AND FIND ANOTHER FORUM TO PLAY IN.

Well actually you did, you implied that he was lying and that you know it.  However you have no credibility based on what you have claimed to impericaly know in other topics and have been proven wrong time and time again.  You are just an old woman that wants people to believe she is in the loop about everything, that's fine a lot of old people feel the need to be wanted like that, but it doesn't actually make them experts on a topic.

As for finding another forum, no thanks.  I have every right to post here as much as any other member of this community.  Just because I've called you on your BS several times now when many others didn't bother does not lessen that right.  Have fun making up stories about random things, I'll be there to set it right when I can prove you wrong. (Which seems to happen time and time again, and I've only been on here for a couple of weeks.)

Oh, and it's quite ignorant to claim that how long you have lived somewhere has anything to do with your level of integrity.

First I have never stated any falsehoods.  All discussions on this website are up for conjecture like most. Any information I have posted has been correct at the time It was discussed and may have change due to no act of myself.

Had a call from one of the ladies on this forum who is a retired teacher. She worked as a counselor for 22 year and taught before that.  After reading all your post, we all believe and by the way I have received a lot of emails to this effect. We believe you are on the opposing side and signed on this site to do nothing more than to cause problems.

She states by your avatar and indicative nature of your postings,   YOU NEED HELP....

end of this discussion for me at least..

You are too funny.

and opposing side of what?

As for the avatar, I've explained that one on this site already, and I change it quite frequently.

The only help I need is to sift through all the BS you post on here and try to pawn off as fact.

As for needing help, I do need some help to clean up the dog waste in my back yard, as now that the snow has melted it's a bit of a mess, but other than that I am fine. I couldn't care less what others think of me.  I didn't care what people thought of me when I was writing for the BedfordNow, and I really don't care what people think  of me now that I have moved on to bigger and better things.

Boy, I am really glad that I said something good about the efforts of three of our local leaders regarding their role in the SOS office.  It certainly lead to a "real positive" interaction of posts.

Apparently you can not even say something good about anyone any more even if both political parties are included.  To hell with me for not mentioning BettyBedords "mistery saint" that apparently was the "real force" behind the SOS.  And if in fact there is a "mistery saint" praise to them as well!!!!

Collegekid, I have read your thoughts and don't always agree with them;  however, you have as much right as anyone else to post and I encourage you to continue.  You have also had some really good thoughts.  As they said in Mass., it was not Ted Kennedy's seat in the senate, it is the people's seat.  I have not read any rules about this site that state that those that "post the most" rule.

OH DEAR LORD....what is wrong with both of you.  A simple, "I disagree", is really all that's needed.  College kid, one assumes (might be my bad) that since you are a writer you could more effectively (and less offensively) get your point accross.  Mrs. Bedford, really, length of residency shouldn't matter nor does it lend to your integrity.  Length of residency should not preclude anyone from stating their opinion.  I usually find the various posts informative and interesting, I have to say that this one, in my opinion, denigrated into the likes of that which I normally see posted by Ivory bill. It did start out quite positive.  Thank you, Waterboy, for the information.  I am not even remotely in a position to know who did the work, nor do I particularly care, I am just grateful it was addressed by someone's willingingness to step up to the plate and advocate for us.
