Despite all the effort... it will close as in the Monroe News today.

This is a real wake up for some folks here in Bedford on how bad things really are.

I have known Doug for years...and a very good RE person. I have spoke to him and value his opinion. We are in a real going to feel something down the line, if we don't tighten up our belts and we don't get some business in Bedford to handle the tax load a bit.

You will be seeing petitions and form letters at the Trade Fair asking the Secretary of State to meet with Sen. Richardville and Rep. Kathy Angerer to reconsider the move, or at least look at a slimmed down version, that can be housed at the Township Hall.

If they were to be housed at our township hall, would you just make it
only acessable to residents only. If not the wear and tear on the building
and parking lot is not worth it.

With the cost of lic. plate's so high and all the other fees why cant they keep the 21 sec state  open we pay huge on our auto's, not counting the other user fees hikes we all pay. This election year is going to be hard on Lansing. i like Kathy and Richardville, but we need to get real change in Lansing. and why dont the news people have anything to say about Granholm?  they sure had alot to say about our last governor, but its like she gets a free pass ? She taxed the biz  in Michigan till the breaking point, and now she says she wants to change or drop the  biz surcharge tax , the same tax's that she created like its some new ideal that she just came up with.

What bothers me more than anything with this is that this "cost savings" doesn't go back to the General Fund for the state.

Bedford Twp. is too big to have all of Driving to the Monroe location this will inconvenience too many and cause more issues then what they realize, ya we have the Twp title but we have over 10,000 homes in Bedford and now we all have to go to Monroe.  I'll be looking for that petition at the trade for we need to do something about this....

Petitions will be available at the Bedford Business Association Trade Fair this weekend for residents to sign to help stop the closure.
To register a complaint about the matter, the Secretary of State's office is 517-322-1460.

A few facts:
*  You cannot use the internet when you buy a vehicle out of state (more need along the border)
*  A city of 10,000 automatically gets a SOS office (less than a third of Bedford)
*  Northern residence don't want the longer lines any more than we want to drive a 1/2 hour to stand in them.

What would happen if Temperance and Lambertville became their own political subdivision. Would we have 2 offices within a stone's throw of each other?
