Bedford Township News
« on: November 13, 2012, 06:58:00 AM »
Bedford Township lost an outstanding community leader and wonderful person with the passing of Phil Crary on Saturday, November 10th.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  I have posted a link to his obituary that appeared in today’s Toledo Blade on the following web page:

A new era begins today for Bedford Township Government as the newly elected board members begin their service to the residents of Bedford Township.  We wish them well!  Tune in tonight and watch their first board meeting which begins at 7:00 p.m.  The meetings are broadcast on Buckeye Cable channel 7 or 11.  If you do not have Buckeye Cable, video of the meeting will be posted on the Bedford Yes web site tomorrow on the following page:

Congratulations to Bedford Township resident Jeff Zink on being selected as one of the two newest members of the Monroe County Board of Road Commissioners.  According to an article in today’s Monroe Evening News, he along with contractor Joe Schumaker of Ida were chosen by the Monroe County Board of Commissioners by identical 9-0 votes which expands the road board from three to five members.

Those that were there said that Jeff's presentation was by far the best and most comprehensive given. I think he will be an asset to the rd commission. If they adopt even some of his ideas then that is a great start to turning the rd commission around

To answer a previous question, Bedford News is a screen name used by a member in the community, not a representative of Bedford Now.

I think it would be better if you suggested the person find a new screen name.  It can be very misleading to the people that view this forum.  Unless one is a regular it might appear that the comments from Bedford News are coming from the admin of the site.

The www.bedfordyes.com web site has been up-dated to include the following newspaper articles:

1.  Toledo Blade article concerning the approval of the site plan for the Wyldewood Baptist Church for the  first phase of building a new church in a residential area on the west side of Douglas Road between Dean and Sterns roads.

2.  Bedford Now article concerning the retirement of Dennis Jenkins from the Bedford Township Planning Department.

Here is a direct link to the page where the articles are listed:
