The open letter written on July 14, 2012 by Jon Whitman that appeared in the Bedford Now has been posted to the www.bedfordyes.com  web site.   The letter is concerning his current lawsuit against Bedford Township over the tax value on the Whitman Ford Dealership property.   Here is the direct link to the page:

If Jon Whitman's figures are correct, how did we get such stupid people in office?  Unbelievable!

Who are these attorneys?  And why are we paying them?

Were any of you told that, "insurance", paid for the lawsuits?  I would swear I read that somewhere.

So what have the repeated lawsuits done to the insurance rates.  And over many years, those lawsuits have been brought by more than Whitman.

The insurance company paid for their attorney for the initial lawsuits. The appeals were paid for with Township General funds and our local attorney Phil Goldsmith's bills were paid for by the township. Phil was involved in every step of the process all the way through them losing at the State Court of Appeals level.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars came directly out of the general fund for those lawsuits.
You can rest assured that Walt knows the exact figure but you can also rest assured that if you ask him the total dollar amount he will not give you a straight answer.

Does anybody else wonder about the timing of the departure of
the Whitman Center director for greener pastures? Is this truly a
coincidence, or is it related to reduced class offerings and the summer
shutdown?

There are three more empty storefronts on Lewis Ave. : the
barbershop and the music store in downtown Temperance (just
South of the Lions' Den), and the carryout/convenience store next
to the NAPA auto parts store.

Businesses are a lot like people, Sig.  Some die.  Others are
born to take their place.

In the current economy, new businesses do not have much of a chance
to get started. The barbershop and music stores closed because the owners
were retiring, from what I have heard. The carryout was a real surprise. I think
that store is more than 30 years old.

The carry out next to Start Auto Parts is closed. New management took it over and closed it less than a month later.

For everyone interested, the music store was purchased and remodeled by Dr Newhouse (not sure I have the exact name correct). He was located on Jackman just north of Sterns. They have been working diligently on the building.

The carryout was a mess while it was open the last time I went in there.

And in response to WikiBedford, Lewis Avenue was widened how long ago so that it could be commercialized and it has been that way for how many administrations?

Hey, Time to spew propaganda, how much is Walt paying you. I have been involved in Politics, worked for a large community, know all the little tricks. It's down to just to 30 days next week, and it doesn't take much for the regular posters to see what's going on. You are thwarting every thread in a direction pro Walt.

I don't think anyone takes anyone serious who used 25+ emoticons in a thread.

Good luck, it's all amusing.

That was out of line.  I think it's wrong to intimate that because someone has a consistan opinion....you just say they joined the thread for poliitical reasons.  Is it because they don't agree with YOU that perhaps is the issue.   I say good on having some new opinions.

BW, I would seriously read your post and think, you have over 1000, AND BEEN CONTRIBUTING for quite some time to the pool of though for the betterment of Bedford, is one thing, then you have the recent new bees, who come in too strong, and interject every thread with an obvious reasons.  I WELCOME NEW OPINIONS, BUT SOME JUST COME HERE FOR A LIMITED TIME AND SPEW PURE CRAP.
